Description

Flufresh 200 is an antifungal medication containing 200 mg of Fluconazole IP. It is manufactured by Smart Laboratories Pvt Ltd and is primarily used to treat and prevent a broad range of fungal and yeast infections.
Indication: Treats infections of the mouth (thrush), throat, vagina, skin, and nails, as well as more serious internal infections like cryptococcal meningitis.
Mechanism of Action: It belongs to the triazole antifungal class. It works by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol 14-α-demethylase, which disrupts the formation of the fungal cell membrane, ultimately killing the fungi or stopping their growth.
Preventative Use: Often prescribed for patients with weakened immune systems (e.g., undergoing chemotherapy or with AIDS) to prevent the development of opportunistic fungal infections.
